Hi, my name is
Matheus Schultz
About me
I am a Ph.D canditate at the Meakins-Christie Laboratories studying the biophysics of smooth muscle contraction. Since 2020, I’ve been applying biophysical methods to understand how smooth muscle keeps the tone of our airways and blood vessels without using a humangous ammount of energy. Teaching and research outreach have been important spheres of my academic career. Check out what I’ve cooking on that aspect over here!
My Research
Outreach
One of my passions is science communucation. I enjoy writing about science, and I’ve hosted a SciComm podcast called Orders of Magnitude
Blog
Orders of Magnitude Podcast
I’ve hosted a short science podcast called “Orders of Magnitude”. Although we haven’t posted in a long while, I invite you check out the latest episode.
Teaching
Teaching scientist and inspiring the young is key for maintaining a healthy and sustainable scientific community. Despite the busy hours of a Ph.D candidate, I’ve strived to sharpen my teaching abilities and give back to the those that are traversing the challenges that I’ve already gone through.
